Our Exclusive Handmade Kauri
Paper

We have over the last 28 years or so had trailer loads
of kauri shavings that have resulted from Rick's woodturning adventures.
What do you do with the shavings? Put them on the garden, give them to
farmers for the little pigs or calves to sleep on, give them to the lady who
breeds prized cats and another hundred and one uses. Hey -why not make some
kauri paper? See the results - wonderfully soft paper from our Ancient kauri
shavings. We have A4 and A3 sheets of paper as well an envelope/note paper
sets. We also have kauri paper covered photo albums.

Lidded kauri paper box NZ$10 and truffle box NZ$8
These shavings come from kauri that has been recovered
from our local swamplands and the tests have been done on samples of this
wood and date the kauri as having been buried for up to 50,000 years. Our
kauri that we are using today is from a swamp tested at 3860 years buried.
Wow - we can hear you saying. Paper from kauri trees
buried for how long! Yes - 3860 years buried plus growing time.
We are now having paper handmade using our kauri
shavings and this is the result. We are developing new ideas for our paper
but if you have an idea let us know. All available to purchase from us.
